Ewaste Programme – Responsible E-Waste Recycling
The Waste Programme by Cedar Centre Trust, in partnership with Abilities Group and Rotary Birkenhead, provides a sustainable way to dispose of electronic waste, or E-Waste, in our community. By recycling electronics responsibly, we help keep hazardous materials out of landfills, reduce environmental harm, and support inclusive employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities through Abilities Group, which has been empowering people since 1959.
What We Accept:
Laptops, desktops, and peripherals
Servers and monitors (both CRT and flat-screen)
Printers and related office electronics
Audio and video equipment (e.g., DVD players, stereos)
Mobile phones, landlines, and communication devices
Whiteware and home appliances
Cables, wires, and all related accessories and packaging
Environmental Impact:
Our Waste Programme promotes eco-friendly disposal of E-Waste, ensuring that valuable materials are repurposed and fewer toxic materials enter landfills. Recycling electronics through our programme reduces pollution, saves resources, and contributes to a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations.
Social Impact:
Through this programme, we’re proud to support Abilities Group’s mission of providing meaningful employment for people with disabilities. Established in 1959, Abilities Group creates inclusive work environments where individuals with disabilities can develop skills and gain independence, all while contributing to a valuable community service. Each item you donate not only helps the environment but also creates job opportunities that foster self-worth and community connection.
Programme Dates:
Our Waste Programme runs twice a year, typically on the Saturday after Easter and the Saturday after Labour Weekend, with upcoming dates to be confirmed. Join us in supporting a sustainable future and inclusive employment—donate your E-Waste through the Cedar Centre Trust Waste Programme and make a positive impact on both the environment and people’s lives.
