Selwyn Foundation Seniors
The Selwyn Seniors Programme
The Selwyn Seniors Programme, hosted by the Cedar Centre Trust, offers social activities, gentle exercise, and morning (or afternoon) tea. A small attendance fee covers refreshments, activities, and expenses. Everyone, regardless of faith, background, or culture, is welcome.
The programme features regular activities and exercise sessions led by a trained coordinator, promoting social connections vital for older adults' health. Staying socially engaged can improve well-being and help delay conditions like dementia. Health experts highlight the importance of addressing loneliness as a serious health risk.
For older adults with limited social opportunities or without close family, Selwyn Seniors provides a weekly chance to connect with the community. The group meets every Thursday, and carers are welcome to join.
